Please indicate whether this is your first, second, or third choice! (Here's a video of Jean explaining what the course is about!)

In this course, you will get introduced to the process of making a fiction film. You will get an idea of how much time and work it takes to create 1 minute of film. You will understand why films take so long to make and why they are so expensive. And also why they are so much fun to make and why so many people dream of being able to work in this magical industry.

Alone or in a group (yet to be determined) you will work towards making a short film. We will work through the whole process of making a short film. So be prepared for nights of drawing storyboards, drinking perhaps one cup of coffee too much, writing scripts and cursing at your shotlist. Be prepared for fights about the lighting in your scene about the rubber ducky. And try to convince others why your favourite shot of your superhero sneezing has to make it to the final montage. But also figuring out what that sound is on set that is ruining your romantic scene. (It is the refrigerator or the air conditioning I guarantee it). And after all that hard work you will have a short film to show your friends and family. Be advised, after this course, no one will want to Netflix with you anymore. As you will not be able to help yourself criticizing every film you see. Can you believe this editing? Who directed this ****. Etc.

The course will require you to be a bit flexible concerning the time and date of the rehearsals.  I, Jean Ramaekers your source of questionable guidance in this Journey (just kidding), have some other obligations that interfere with the dates of the planned rehearsals. During our rehearsals, I’ll be working on a film set of a full-length film so I will have to change some dates/times in the period of April 19 till 13 May. This will be discussed in the course itself together with you. We will work something out that works for all of us.

Hope to see you on set!

The deadline to sign up for this course is the Wednesday 27th of January 2021 at 23h59.
