About the play:

This semester’s production will be Frankenstein - The Man and The Monster.

A lot of you will be familiar with this Gothic Fictional Horror story written by Mary Shelley. While having fun with the scarier parts of the play, some research will be done in the back on the more philosophical questions: who is the true monster? Is it what Frankenstein created? Or is it Frankenstein himself for not being able to love what he created? What is a monster? What makes something or someone a monster? We will be using Mary Shelley as the narrator of the production, but the story will also be told from the Monster’s point of view. No matter how experienced you are, you are welcome to audition for the production- but be aware of the commitment. By joining this project, you will dive into the world of Frankenstein and work towards the unique experiencing of performing in a theatre.

About the director:

Renée van de Schoor, a Maastricht native, is a young and dynamic director. Completed a degree in Theatre and Education in Utrecht, where she graduated in 2015. She has been active and working in the theatre scene for 17–18 years. During my degree she had to do an international internship, which brought me to Dublin, where she moved back after graduating. She has worked as an actor, director, producer and teacher, both in Ireland and in the Netherlands. Currently, she is working for a professional theatre company in Limburg, creating educational programs with their theatre productions.
